I think we did this quite a while back, good for a bit of banter... Now that the season is upon us lets get the chat going. Few links to start it off:

Rain Alarm - it's app for your phone which vibrates and alerts you if its going to rain in your area. Seems to be pretty accurate.

Top 10 Driving Roads: I would really love to take a trip to ride as many of these as possible...

Big Playlist of riding techniques: Huge big list of videos about riding techniques, safety, cornering, getting the knee down, and even how to do wheelies! This is the first one, about track riding positions - pretty interesting

I did a round Ireland trip and did loads of research beforehand of the best roads. I might have the list somewhere I'll try to dig it out...

I know its depressing I hope it gets better soon... It does not dound an alarm just vibrates - however you can 'mute' it for a few hours/days/week etc. Also just handy to check whenever needed.

What's a good site for checking the weather? Some of them are useless - and I hate met.ie

Went up to Killarney last weekend in the car no less (herself wouldn't go pillion that distance...) - immediately realised I brought the wrong vehicle once I got onto the Ring of Kerry, will definitely be back with the bike next time - hopefully the summer coming.

Anyone ever see the Mr Bean episode where he pushes the car through a red light copying the cyclist? Saw a bloke on a motorbike do that today! Stops at red light, gets off the bike and pushes it around the corner and then hops on the bike and drives down the road.

The daily forecasts by M.T. Cranium in the Weather Forum here on Boards are fairly bang on. He posts early every morning.

The roads around kerry and cork are incredible, especially the Ring of Kerry. I did it in the car years ago which I loved but went back on the bike last year - just brilliant. Have a video of it here. Can't wait to go back. I'd also like to do a trip up north to Donegal and the Antrim coast road, its where Joey Dunlop cut his teeth and I hear its fantastic biking country.

http://www.pdfmotomanual.com is much better for manuals, IMO; there's way more -- at least for the models I've searched for. YMMV.

Passed 2 northsiders arguing on the half way mark of O'Connell Bridge today, a bloke and a girl. He says to her that he cannot go over the bridge as he'd get charged. She turns around and told him it's free to cross the bridge. His response, I mean I'll be arrested if I go to that side, pointing towards D'Olier Street.

Tune in, same bat time, same bat channel for yet another installment of Rosie's walk at lunchtime.

I just moved to germany there 2 weeks ago and on my way to work this morning i got feckin flashed by a mobile speed trap, a blinding red flash and then the realization... FOOK. I'm just hoping that since the bike is only registered in Ireland they wont have me on their system and ill get away with it, also the flash was from the front so it they had no cameras to catch my tail then im thinking ill be alright. These guys dont mess around, for anyone who might be interested heres a list of their penalty system a slight bit of google translate might be nescessary. Anyone have any stories of this sort of thing? I also wonder if there is something you could put on a number plate to reflect a camera flash?

I find met.ie to be good, but you have to check it that morning to get accuracy. I usually check it in bed before I get up. And check the regional section dublin. Always bang on.

If you're selling, I'm buying - where is it ?

Here's why: lost youth and all that:

    img020-M.jpg

    img017-L.jpg

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I'm going to a wedding in California in June, good school friend so a few of us going over. One of the lads is also a bike Biker, so I'm very tempted to rent bikes for a few days and get a few miles in. As it's America I'm thinking to get big gay Harleys... :p

I had to send my tcx boots back as they were too small for me. Packaged them up and went off to the post office. Nearly keeled over when they said it was going to be €30 to post back to uk as it is over 2gk. Was pissed but just thought fuk it, the hassle of going to try to find a cheaper quote, this is An Post after all - so I just paid it.

Then a few hours later a friend said "Why didn't you just use Parcel Motel - they send to the UK for dirt cheap". Can;t believe I did not think of that. Feel like a twat. Anyway just in case someone is in the same situation: http://www.parcelmotel.com/returns.html

Went for a spin up the A44 autobahn today to check out a huge open mine there since the weather was fine, was nice to let the bike stretch her legs. Of course i had to see what she could do on an unlimited autobahn... was only able to take it up to 270 km/h but it think that's as fast as ill ever take her, pretty amazing feeling though. Here's a pic of the mine in the distance

Has anybody had any experience with barracuda screens. Thinking about trying out this one. I'm not mad on the aftermarket screens for the er6 but it seems the best of a bad bunch. Hopefully it will reduce the buffeting on open roads at higher speeds.

Replaced the fork seals last week with lookbehindyou, only to find today atfer the spin that one of them is leaking. The new seal I got did not look 100% but had no choice but to fit it over the older ones that were in sh1t.

Ordered new fork seals now and dust seal and will get a new bottle of fork oil tomorrow, another messy job this week....ffs!

Has anyone got a pair of those kevlar jeans? Thinking about getting them for the commute to work. It’s a pain changing into and out of my textiles and boots etc – especially when nice outside. Sometimes I just throw the leather jacket, helmet and gloves on – so much easier – but fek all protection below the belt.

I bid on a pair of RST's on ebay the other day, were going really cheap but I got outbid the last second.

I bought a pair of Draggin' Jeans about five years ago and in the fine weather they are the dogs bits for spinning about. They were great quality. Only thing is I must have changed out of them somewhere last summer and left them behind because I haven't found them anywhere since. I bought a new pair from motomania in the uk before Christmas, because as soon as we get any decent weather again, they will be the trousers of choice on the bike, along with the new mesh jacket Mrs RR bought me for christmas..:)

BTW Aldi have them for sale next week...

Just about got the angle right for the camera. Didn't realise the lens had some condensation built up which didn't react well to the sunlight. Jasus lads im rusty as fu*k on her. I took her for a 10 min spin a few weeks ago but it was last Oct since I was on the bike on a propper spin. I just hit these roundabouts today to shake off some cobwebs. Didn't help:p

I took the vid in 1080 60p. I saved it and then saved it through windows movie maker for youtube upload. Quality of the original is alot better than the youtube version but im still very happy with it. There is a wrist band remote control available for the camera but I couldn't be arsed paying the 150 euro for it. I can control it with my phone anyway.

Brought the bike down to GB Motorcycles in naas to get it checked over and see if there is anything needs doing. they owner spent about 15-20 minutes looking over the bike and advised me of a couple of things i could do in the next few months, mainly balance the throttle bodies and oil the brake & accelerator cables. he said there is nothing he would do to it now as it needs nothing so to drive it a few thousand km and drop it in for a service when its due and he will do the other bits too. he complemented the bike too saying its a great example of the sv.

Nice to meet a genuine guy who is not out to just take your money and is keen to give advice. I know where ill be sending the bike for any work it needs.
