    Budget:
    - Max €1,100.
    - Can pay via CC or bank transfer.
    - Plan to put the order through on Sunday night or Monday night.

    Main purpose of computer:
    - I'm replacing my existing box - existing accessories will not be replaced.
    - The new box would be used for virtualisation, programming/development, photo editing, video editing, gaming (not a hard-core gamer) and general home use. Have no intention in overclocking the new box.

I've put together a list of parts for a new box to replace the existing one.
    This will be a self-build.

    Item|Price
    ASRock Z87M Extreme4, Sockel 1150, mATX|€98.35
    Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 Bx, LGA1150|€207.48
    XFX Radeon R9 270 Double Dissipation Edition, 2GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort|€147.14
    Toshiba SSD - Q Series PRO 256GB 2,5"|€147.57
    2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200 2000GB, SATA 6Gb/s|€142.98
16GB Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9|€118.07
    FRACTAL DESIGN Define Mini|€75.12
    be quiet! SYSTEM POWER 7 500W - bulk -|€51.89
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit SB-Version Englisch|€82.87
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€1090.46

    Need:
    - Box will need wifi and blue-tooth. Do not want to "hog" an usb socket as I need them for other gadgets. Is there a card that has both wifi and bt at a resonable price?

Addtional parts to be purchased at a later date (do not need info about these parts):
    - A new monitor, 1440p
    - Non-stock cpu cooler
    - Blu-ray/DVD drive (if case cannot hold one, I'll get an external one)

A Plextor SSD (PX-256MPro) would be moved from old box to new box.
The Plextor SSD will be the primary drive, Toshiba SSD be the utility/temp/work drive, the Seagates for storage (setup in RAID 1 configuration).

Z87M Extreme4 board was chosen due to having 4xUSB3 and 4xUSB2 sockets on back-plate and low price.

    Questions:
    1) Motherboards
Which of these two boards is the better one (they're priced roughly the same):
    - Asrock Z87M Extreme4
    - Asrock Z87 Pro4

    2) XFX Radeon R9 270 video card
My monitor only has VGA connection. The XFX doesn't appear to have a VGA connection.
Is there an adapter I can get?

    3) Power
Would the "be quiet!"'s 500W unit have sufficient power to drive the new box comfortably? Should I get the 550W version instead?

    4) Case
Would any of the following case be a better choice than the Fractal Design Mini?
    - Silverstone Sugo SG10B
    - BetFenix Phenom M
    - Nanoxia Deep Silence 4
    - Fractal Design Define R4
    - Cooler Master Silencio 352

    5) Parts
Would the be any incompatiblity issues with the parts selected?
Can any of the parts be swapped for a better one (for roughly less or the same price)?

    Thanks.

    Extreme4 is the better board.

Card will almost certainly come with a DVI->VGA adapter.

500W will be tonnes of power for that system.

The Define R4 is probably a better choice, as you've picked an ATX board to go in an mATX case (meaning it won't fit).

Really, I'd go for a 4670K. You say you won't be overclocking... but it's extremely easy, and will net you quite a bit of extra performance.

    Thanks for the comments.

    - I should be ok with the XFX card then.

    - The Extreme4 board I've listed is a mATX board.

    - I'll have another look at the 4670K.

    Another question:
I know this forum has a big leaning towards buying/quoting from Hardwareversand.de, are the other German sites ok to buy from - e.g. CaseKing.de? Alternate.de? MindFactory.de?

My bad, in that case the Define Mini is fine. I haven't used the DS4, but I have the DS1, and it's a fantastic case.

You can use other sites of course - MindFactory was looked at a while back - but it seems that HWVS consistently edge ahead on prices.
