I have two keys to my car. One is held together with tape. The other doesn't start the engine but does open the doors. Anyone know of an Indy in the Midlands who can repair or recode or just make new ones for me. Can't handle a dealer.

Did you try gluing the one held together by tape? The keys are sealed for life and if you want to change the battery it's a diy job. At the end you just glue the two sides back together. Could be what happened yours.

I've pmed u a place in portlaoise for the other. Did you try reininitalise it?

I had the same issue with my keys one housing broke so i got a replacement key from DX.com took a while for delivery then transferred the contents from the broken key to the new key.

As the blade was blank i got a key cutting shop to copy it from old key.

Then you have the chip inside which controls the immobiliser be careful with this they normally glue it inside the case somewhere can be tricky to get out put with time and being careful i broke apart the key around the immobiliser until it was free and then popped it into new key. The new key had a hole the same as the old key for it so gave me the location of it.

As for the other key not working i used to have a golf and i found with some research that with one working key i could do a series for tasks like turn on off car press this button and then that button put key in door simple things like this and i was able to get my key working again with the immobilise.

    This looks like your key

Forgot to say the chip is only thing you need to get programmed if you replace the key you still may need to visit dealer to do this.

If you go the root of new key make sure they can do it and you dont need to bring it to dealer.
