New Build for Gaming / Work

Hi guys

Looking to build my first ever PC and want it to be a good one :P. Please see below and do not be afraid to laugh at me as I don't really know what I am doing.

1. What is your budget? €2,000

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming mainly (Titanfall looks promising) plus will use it for bits of work (email, MS Office - nothing too taxing)

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes (Windows 8.1 64 Bit)

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

5. Do you need a monitor? Yes - but outside of this build (will source separately)

5a. If yes, what size do you need. 24' would be nice if there are any recommendations

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Keyboard, Mouse, Wireless Card, Speakers

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No

8. How can you pay? Bank Transfer / Credit Card / Laser

9. When are you purchasing? Wedding coming up so in and around 6 weeks time (pure Friday activity )

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Have a couple of friends who have built their own and will be persuaded to help me.

given you aren't overclocking you won't need the dearer K processor or a Z87 motherboard and the cooler is probably going to be over kill as well as a result.

Do you think you would go with 2 graphics cards in the future or would you be more likely to sell your current one and just get a replacement?

Also it looks like a reference cooler 290x which isn't ideal probably

Thanks just the kind of advice I need!

I heard the R9 290x can get quite hot so that's why I went for the cooler - so will bring the processor back to a 4770 and have a rethink re the motherboard

I don't think any games at the moment will benefit from having 16GB or RAM over having just 8GB. Given that RAM prices are really high at the moment you could probably save a few quid by just getting 8GB for the moment and then adding more in the future.
