David Bowie has got himself in bother with Scots looking for a yes win in the upcoming referendum on Scottish independence.

Apparently, however, its been a huge misunderstanding. It's a little known fact that David Bowie is a supporter of Scottish Championship football team Hamilton Academical Football Club. One of their strikers, Jason Scotland, is looking for a transfer away from the club and all Bowie did was to ask him to stay.

I hope Dave gets the apology he deserves.

The Scots will be dancing in the street calling for his head.

They were going to name a street in Edinburgh after him.

Then they realised it only went one way.

    (sorry)

    It's a godawful small affair.

Bowie was branded "arrogant" and a "two faced old *******" in messages on his official Facebook page, with one reading: "**** off back to Mars".

    Lol

I thought it would be for having sex with a 14 year old girl back in the day which is a really well known secret. A year later Jimmy Page "abducted" the same girl

    According to Angie Bowie yes.

I doubt if Bowie will ever get to read this story in the Irish Independent.
He's more of a Star man.

i dreaded opening this thread thinking it could be another Saville situation

Saville always seemed creepy to me as a child (not just saying that now he's disgraced - his eyes never smiled along with his mouth) but Bowie made me feel all sorts of curious and delicious- like my legs were made of stretched out bubble gum.

He should probably leave Scotland alone though, especially since he couldn't even be arsed to go to England to pick up his award.

He sang Thursday's child. Today is Thursday. Someone make a joke about that please.

he has a pathological fear of flying - AFAIK he has not left the continental of north america in decades.

any time he does come to Europe , he sails

Thats why he did not "bother" to pick up his award

Haha in fairness if he was referring to a "footballer" he picked the wrong platform and time to do it. I mean of course they would think he meant this upcoming referendum. Everyone thought that.

I saw this story in The Grauniad earlier. Some commenters made disparaging remarks about Tin Machine, which basically means I can dismiss their opinions on everything as piles of dingo's kidneys. If Tin Machine was a mistake, it was a gloriously, spectacularly musical mistake, one which makes most of this century's music sound like it was written and perforned by a committee.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

―Oscar Wilde predicting Social Media, in The Picture of Dorian Gray

A great commentary on Scottish football that Bowie is interested in it. Ground control to Major Tom.

So is it all hunky dory now? I'm sure he was feeling low? Very touchy those scot people, but its true he's an absolute beginner when it come to politics, might as well put out fire with gasoline. Maybe should stick to fashion in his golden years. :o

He's only expressing lack of support for Scottish devolution... you'd swear he was the man who sold the world.
It's the same for us all anyway no matter where we live: ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

Oh the lulz at my Granda's funeral when we tried to pretend we knew all the words... ashes to ashes, funk to funky, we know Major Tom's a junkie...

Heaven forbid that a celebrity might express a considered political opinion at a moron fest like the Brits.
