Illness Benefit - Am I Eligible??

    Hi,

I was diagnosed with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) & some other mental health issues last year.

I was referred to a Psychologist & Psychiatrist last year & was put into a DBT (Dialectal Behavioral Therapy) program, which lasts about a year.

My mental health affects my life greatly. I was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 2 years ago & live with constant pain & fatigue.

I want to apply for Illness Benefit but I'm afraid that I will be declined because I have heard that it isn't awarded to a lot of people.

Could I be granted it based on my mental health issues alone? I don't think they take Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Illnesses as a reason for not being able to work. (I was told this in a Pain Support Group but I'm not sure if it's true!?)

I contacted Citizen's Advice & they said that they aren't sure, all I can do is apply.

    Thanks!
