Travelling over for champion hurdle day for first time in a few years. Do most my betting online and wondering what coverage is like on course. Imagine wi fi if available would be poor quality due to high numbers using it.

Good idea would be wi fi you could pay for if you were guaranteed a decent connection on course. Data charges for using irish network would be ridiculous otherwise

    It's ****e as you'd expect.

Do your betting before you got to the course and enjoy the day tbh.

No WiFi you might be able to use betfair app. Just..

its infinitely more fun to bet on course and it the one time there is value to be found. Betting ring is buzzing..

Can't imagine on course bookies being too happy if wifi was introduced with the prices they pay for their pitches.

Saw on Boylesports Facebook a few weeks ago they have wifi now in their shops. How nice of them, might pop in to watch the racing in there, drink their tea, destroy their jacks and back horses elsewhere off their wifi.

Having wifi available in shops can only be a positive development.

Re on course, I tend to bet with the rails bookmakers. However, I read a few yrs back in one of those rp festival guides that if you took the morning price, you generally fared well ahead of the sp so I guess by backing on track in the 30 mins leading up to each race, you risk losing some value.

You could end up missing getting your bet on if you were relying on a connection on track so maybe have a wad of cash as a back up

Think it's Eircom wifi so you'd have to pay for it. Anyway, jacks is usually destroyed by the degenerates long before the civilised folk get to it!

wi-fi hotspots are available but to be honest its not a wise thing to use. this is where hackers are lining up (especially with crowds ) to hack into your device. Surprisingly easy to do. Its called "man in the middle".
I installed security software for a local pub after someone was sitting there some afternoons drinking coffee on is laptop. He spent a few days stealing information and then used the following week for online pruchases etc. If anyone is using wi-fi hotspots please use a proxy. Phones are probably the easiest to hack into and usually have most info as people sync so many accounts. Be warned

3G tends to slow to a crawl around race day, So I wouldn't rely on it.

Start by reading this link , this is a widespread problem and most dont realise they have been stung for a very long time

Also for business owners the onus usually falls on them if they are advertising free wI fI

Am I best to purchase tickets for the Tuesday from official website or will I pick them up any cheaper anywhere else? Tatts tickets are 40 and increase to 45 as of Saturday. £70 for club tickets is bit too pricey for my liking
