Always nightmares, never good dreams

    Hi all.
Just posting for some input here! I either sleep all night - no dreaming (not that I remember anyway) or I have nightmares which wake me up in the night with tears and/or palpitations.

I can't remember the last 'good dream' I had.
At the minute I have can't 3/4 nightmares on a bad week - which obviously leave me exhausted as my sleep is broken.
The nnightmares are not recurring and can be about anything from bombs, to my dad having a stroke, to being a Jew hiding from Nazis during the war!

I'm not on medication or anything and I would say I'm happy in general (solid relationship/enjoyable job/good health.

Anyone have any advice or theories?

Are you a busy person? What I mean is, do you have a lot of things going on like work and life (who doesn't right? :))? Do you find yourself in a hurry or rush a lot of the time? I know someone who is extremely busy with life, a very full plate and has terrible nightmares.

Try and clear your mind before sleeping, just jump into bed a little bit before you normally go and relax for a bit.

I do to a point actually.

Work is always interesting (I work with addicts) and I'm pretty busy most of the time.

I bought some lavender recently and that seems to work for the meantime!
