    [MOD]

Pages of idle speculation about a named fellow member deleted.

Look, just as it's not on to be speculating on the possible new identity of someone who has closed their account here, it's equally 'not on' to be having a great time kicking around notions of why a regular poster has gone quiet.
People come and go for lots of reasons, none of which are our business, and people can equally choose to pull back from contributing as regularly as they have been, which is also none of our business.

None of us know why the individual who has been subjected to this particular 'investigation' has been quiet for a while.
Perhaps it's as simple as their Internet connection being down following the bad weather.
Perhaps they have something serious going on in the real world.

Or perhaps, should we consider the possibility that they might have had enough of the 'craic' and 'banter' regularly directed at them in this forum, with some particularly fine examples on show for a while there in the posts I've deleted in this very thread?

Ragging on someone when they're here to respond is one thing, but going at it when they're obviously not is definitely out of order.

This stuff is an ongoing problem for us mods.
We don't want to have to live here 24/7 reading every single thing posted for 'problems', and we like that the forum is kinda free-wheeling and informal, but we do have to step in when people loose the run of themselves.

While sometimes the line between 'banter' and 'bullying' can be pretty blurry, this thread looks to be veering towards the latter description.
    Thread closed.
