I'm trying to help a friend.

Does any one know a good shrink in Galway or nearby? Someone with lots of experience, depressions, and if possible someone that has been like 10 years in the University?

    Thanks.

you're going to have to elaborate - what do you mean by 'shrink', 'depressions' and '10 years in the University'...

I think he means a psychiatrist who specialises in people with depression and is highly qualified.

This thread should be helpful from a few years ago - I doubt much has changed.

or I think if you go to your GP, your GP may (MIGHT) be able to refer to you to psychiatrist.

tried to check linked in but some email bullcrap, THEN theres no email.

you can google the psychiatrist galway, etc.

to ask hse.ie (email them maybe)
    or mentalhealth galway
    etc

I think, I know in <snip> for example near SuperValu there's a Mental Health office, I guess if you went in there, and asked they could get you in contact with a doctor.

whellman1030, Honor3, as per the Forum Charter, this forum cannot provide personal recommendations for doctors or any other business. Please both familiarise yourselves with the charter before posting again.

There is an excellent thread in the Psychology Forum on how to go about finding a counsellor, therapist or psychologist for yourself HERE which we recommend you read instead.
