I just wondered how many people have said "I must fix that one of the days" and before you get a chance it ends up costing you dear and you end up kicking yourself!?

Our winterage runs down to the sea and there is a sheer drop of a cliff down on rocks of 60ft.. I fenced it all off in 2009 for safety reasons with esb poles/ steel stakes/ timber stakes where I could get soil to drive them but I used sheepwire on say 80 % of it, there was a section that was overgrown and I put 3 rows of barbed wire.. since then I cleared the scub and been meaning to replace the 3 rows of barbed with sheepwire as if an animal were to calve near it now the calf would go out under bottom row to its death. Calved a heifer last weekend near it and as he was so slippy and she was licking him he started to head towards that section of fence.. it'd be awful unlucky but could happen..

Took today off as fine and loads of small jobs to do, picked up 2 rolls of heavy sheepwire pack of gripples and fired it up.. great satisfaction to have it closed

Brackets holding on canopy on cow shed were in a bad way and i knew it, never got round to replacing them and one span blew off in storm at christmas, lucky enough came out after dinner and saw it before whole lot went, managed to get ropes and ratchet straps on rest.

Where do I start ha, have a list the length of my arm. Not plumbing in a waterpipe correctly in a small pin was my last cockup, a cow pulled it out and I was greeded to her standing in about a ft of water the other morning, whole pin flooded ha.

keep meaning to put all the fert bags into one bag because what has been happening is that when i empty then I fire them into an unused shed that was for calves before and the door opened during the storm was week and then blew everywhere.

that jobeen this afternoon cost me E105 and wouldn't it be the dear E100 on me if I had a springer looking out to sea for her newborn calf

Every single job I put on the long finger ever came back and bit me on the ass. Usually on a Sunday morning, or just before kick-off of whatever was the must see fixture of the week.

It seems to be mostly de horning calves for me. I always seem to miss one or two because its to late in the evening or I wont have time to check them later or some other long finger excuse. And it always ends with the hateful job of skulling them when they are weanlings.

Usually fencing or replacing a broken gate. Cattle will eventually always find a weak spot to exploit.

Tidying up fert bags fcuking hate it always pack them away to give to a neighbour for bagging turf but they get fcuked in a corner and get forgoten about.

Can relate to all of the above, except the cliffs. Leaky gutters is another one, 2 or 3 % penalty.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Over the years my poor efforts at fencing have led to some stress for me and those around me. I seem to be getting better though as the jobs I did last year are still holding up, touch wood!!

Some good fencing vids on YouTube, and there is a very good fencing thread somewhere on TFF. Solid strainers are half the battle.
