Stuck in a rut

    Hi everyone,
My life is really stuck in a rut at the minute since leaving university 2 years ago I have yet to get a job in my field. The biggest issue is my total lack of self-confidence, right now I don’t even have the confidence to apply for jobs. I know this sounds like I’m lazy but even looking at jobs brings on fairly serious anxiety. I’m talking heart racing, sweaty palms, feeling sick. I was diagnosed with depression 3 years ago and I’ve been on various anti-depressants. At first I thought they were great but now I’m not that happy with them. I’ve been to the doctors plenty of times when this has happened and they have changed the type of anti depressant and the dosage but it never seems to make a big difference.
It used to be that I just used to feel depressed but now anxiety is what really is affecting me there are plenty of times when I’m fine but unless I absolutely have to deal with people I don’t. I rarely ever go out anymore and I just want to avoid most social situations. For example even playing 5 aside football brings out anxiety which sounds ridiculous. My life can’t go on like this, but I’m not sure on how I can change. Any suggestions?

I think you could probably do with finding a new GP. Sounds like you've tried lots of medication and have now developed anxiety on top of everything else so it's really best that you go and have a full health NCT while also being referred to someone like a CBT therapist. You do need professional medical help so doing so would be a very positive first step for you.
