Hi, meeting a builder in the morning, found a place built to first floor level, ready now for first floor slabs and looking for opinions/expierences with house sitting a while. As far as I can te'll from talking to local people, it's sitting in current state for 3 and a half years. How would the insulation be in the open cavities after this length of time? Can it get waterlogged?? Any other issues I need to look for? I'm assuming from talkin to friends in the trade that I wouldn't have to take walls down and build again etc. but has anyone else got any expierence on this?? Thanks

    Hi Matrat
I would recommend strongly you have an engineer have a look at it. These people are qualified in this area. They will see the building open as you described and will see at first hand exactly what's there and advise you accordingly. At this stage use the professional. Do not let money at this early stage be a problem- - - I have a wee quote for you Start right--- finish right.
Neighbours or friends have no idea what's happening with the building as it stands especially after those few years lying there
