I start up my focus after my 12 hour shift and as i drive slowly out the drive of were i work. A red led light comes on a it says engine system fault. Happened 3 times finally got it check out due to long hours at work. Mechanic said it might be the ECU in the car there was other smaller faults aswell he said they were nothing major!! He said its common fault in the focus, the fault code was p1000 i think he said, something like that!! Its a 05 1.4 petrol focus!! Any know anything about this and how much would a new ECU cost. I know they can be expensive!!

it wont be the ecu, forget the p1000 code its test cycle code it wont effect the car, you need your car tested on ids, does your car have intermittent starting problems?
