Cover girl! Their mascaras are supposed to be excellent.

I would buy the Sephora age defying serum, it's about $40 and it's supposed to be EXCELLENT. They don't ship to Ireland!

I'd also buy a traincase, I don't have one and really want one.

Hard Candy make up in Wal-Mart, they are just so pretty looking.

Loads of Too Faced make up, especially the teddy bear brushes, they are meant to be great. I love their stuff, its so vintage looking but the make up itself is really fresh and on trend.

Other than that it would be just impulse buying, sure what's new :o

I would probably buy the entire range by Physicians Formula (though I pretty much have already!) because it is a great brand that we don't have over here. Well worth checking out at drugstores, WalMart, Target or wherever. Often the products have $ off coupons attached so make sure you use those at the till, especially at Rite Aid.

Real Techniques brushes - so much cheaper! I picked up loads at Fred Meyer and I'm pretty sure that chain is in Seattle. Their make up departments tend to be really good actually! NYX is stocked there - I really like their lip glosses and their Jumbo eye pencils are supposedly amazing.

At Sephora I'd check out Tarte, Marc Jacobs, Anastasia Beverly Hills (for brows) and pretty much all of the skincare is cheaper. If you're looking for a face mask, Glam Glow - seriously best thing ever. It is like $70 but you can get smaller pots for $19. Sounds crazy expensive but it is hyped for a reason, my skin never looks better than after using it.

Drugstore mascaras are WAY cheaper! I always stock up and as mentioned, the Covergirl ones are so good.

If you like nail varnish, essie, OPI and those brands are a lot cheaper, approx. $7 compared to €14 here.

Get thee to Kmart for perfume, literally half what it costs here.
NYC makeup is much cheaper there (in Riteaid anyway), great mascaras and eyeshadows.

Literally the entire contents of a Sephora store. I love that place so much!

Is cover girl the brand that's basically the same as max factor or am I thinking of something else?
I'd try the balm as we'll. they're supposed to be good.

I believe Max Factor is a sister company of CoverGirl. They do produce a lot of very similar products, for example Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara is really like Lash Blast by CoverGirl.

I'm also going to that states. I've a fair idea of things I want to restock and try for the first time- namely Mac Prolongwear concealer, Nars creamy concealer, Fling eyebrow pencil, Mac mineralize skin finish, Soft Ocre paint pot, Kat Von D liquid liner and lots more. However I want a new foundation. Medium to full coverage. I want to try a high end and a low end one. Any recommendations??

Their Moon Glow powder highlighter is the best I've ever used, and the tinted balm sticks are lovely. Absolute bargain range that looks and wears like it costs a lot more.

This is a brilliant range, especially their mineral make up and blushes. The colour corrective powder is the only dud I've found in that range.

Rite Aid, Target and Walgreens are great for offers, often doing 3 for 2 or 40% off offers, and if you're a fan of L'Oreal mascaras, they're less than half price Stateside. Covergirl Naturelux foundation is a dupe for Armani Luminous Silk, and the LashBlast and One-by-One mascaras are unbeatable for about $8.

CVS do brilliant dupes of popular skincare items like St Ives and Aveeno for about half the price, in larger sizes.

Perfume, skincare (Philosphy is about 30% cheaper) and tools are all bargains.

Go mad and enjoy yourself :)

    Hi All,

I'm off to the states end of next week and just wonder if you have any recommends for me while i'm there.

I defo want to get the beauty blender from Sephora, heard great things about that.
Also want to pick up some wet n'wild, i know you can get it here now but i'm sure it's still cheaper over there.

Usually buy a few Mac bits when i'm over there. It literally kills me the prices i am charged here for it.

Does anyone know is Inglot cheaper over there than here? (ha what itsn't)

So any other beauty bargins i should pick up....

Apparently Inglot is cheaper in Ireland than anywhere else!

Tarte Amazon Escape palette would be top of my list. Im sure I read somewhere that if you're buying something in Sephora and you ask at the checkout for samples they'll give you tonnes of little products

Just back this morning, got a great Clinique bonus time offer in Bloomingdales, only had to buy one item (i think the minimum spend was $30) and got a free lippy, palate with 2 eyeshadows and a blush, mascara, liquid facial soap, moisture surge intense, a little clear plastic coin purse, a nail clippers and nail file and a mini nail varnish. Choice of 2 colourways, I got the pink and grey. All in a horrible round make up bag. Worth shopping around Saks, Bloomies, Macy's and Century 21 for bonus time offers, they vary wildly, I picked up a decent Lancome one in Macy's without any of the usual 'one to be skincare' restrictions.
Also got lots of gorgeous Wet n wild nail polishes for a dollar each in Kmart, and lovely Revlon 'scented when dry' polishes in great muted shades for around $6, and saw good value on Essie polishes in i think CVS but didn't buy as I think their quality has slipped of late.
All in all I was a bit more restrained this time and even held back from buying anything in Sephora, it's a slippery slope for me when it comes to that place!

I got most of my buys in sephora but for anyone going to seattle the seattle premium outlets are well worth a visit and have a little make up shop with mac, estee lauder, tom ford perfumes etc. The range of shades was more limited but estee lauder double wear was 26 dollars.
Biggest regret was not buying tom fords black orchid which was 90 dollars in sephora for a 100ml bottle :-( compared to the 119 dollars in duty free for 50mls :-( The urban decay naked palettes two and three were 53 dollars each and sold out.

I am lucky enough to be going to New York over the Easter.:p Everyone has been telling me about the wonderful bargains and how great the shopping is over there.

Would love to invest in some brushes and perhaps a good foundation and primer when I am over there.

Has anyone any idea how beauty products and make up prices compare to here? Or could anyone reccomend some products? I have tried a friends smashbox primer before and liked it. I have combination skin and like a dewy medium coverage foundation.

Would really appreciate any tips for NYC shopping!:p

Smashbox photo finish primer is around €4 cheaper in Sephora US than in Boots Ireland.
Make up and cosmetics in general are quite a bit cheaper there than here, and bonus time offers can be a lot more generous - it's worth checking Sephora, Saks, Century 21, Macys and Bloomingdales for bonus time offers from Clinique, Lancôme, Estee Lauder etc as they vary from store to store.
Kmart is great for the non-premium make up brands and for cheap nail varnish. Covergirl is a great value brand, available in drugstores.
Do a forum search though, there have been a few threads on this topic in the past month or 2 :)
General tip - ask for samples! Most of the cosmetics counter ladies and gents are great for giving free samples to friendly shoppers, especially in Sephora!

Nail polish is dirt cheap over there! I bought 50 bottles (eeeek!) when I was over there and probably didn't go that far over 100 euro. There's loads of buy one, get two free and stuff.
