Well they seem a bad weight for their age as I've two bullocks here at 22 months old and are over 600kg

Friesians are a hard sell this time of the year, you need surplus grass on the ground before the price picks up. But those cattle if they got a good dose and were let out to grass would do well for someone, its a pity they are Bulls as bullocks would attract a lot more buyers who just want a few low maintenance cattle for the summer

If they are only 300kgs they are still light enough to squeeze, a 5 week old WH calf might cost more. two are jex crosses it is them I be looking at If they can be got to 550 kgs before Christmas they will be finished or near enough. The other bullock is facing another winter feeding.

If they are 22 mnts old and 300 kg they gained on average 0.38 kg/day since birth to get them to 550 for Christmas they would need to gain 0.92 kg/day until then. Would they do that on grass?

Alot will depend on condition. He may have underestimated the weight especiall of the FR. They are poorly done and may have lost weight over both winters. If they are only frames they may take off and if they have plenty of grass may gain 1kg/day until next August/September. The critical period is from then om they may need 2kgs climbing to 5kgs to finish before Christmas. say 120 days averaging 3.5/day so 420kgs and maybe a bit of silage as well. The Friesian however will need grass next year as well.

say 270kgsDW and grading P+/O- @ 3.5/kg.........950 euro will they leave a margin.

It ill depend on his weight and grade and fat score. Present base is about 3.95/kg If you were QA and he grades R+ and a FS of 3-4- That is a gross price of 4.13/kg.
