Overheard bf bitching about me to his bro

I was having an afternoon nap when my bf's bro came over for a visit. They were talking quite loudly which I could hear through the closed bedroom door. Then their voices dropped markedly but I could still pick up certain words.

The day prior, we'd gone to a rap festival and he'd moaned and bitched at me all throughout about how hot it was. I felt responsible as I'd paid for our tickets and hadn't been to the venue before, was expecting better seating arrangements.

We had a falling out and argued at the venue. Then we got over it and were somewhat fine. Got home early in the morning - had makeup sex and were lovely dovey again. Thought we were over it but now heard him moaning to his bro about how I was sulking with him, being a bitch and how hot it was and what a lame time he had :(

I know it's natural to bitch about your SO to family or friends but I can't help being hurt about it. I've always tried to be super nice to his family because I care about their opinion of me. Now I just feel tarnished and shiitty.

Sorry just needing to vent. I would appreciate your thoughts.

    He sounds really immature.

You did something nice for him (buying the tickets) and he bitched and moaned at you over something that was completely out of your hands. Who bitches about nice weather anyway !!

The fact he has continued to bitch after you apologized means that he is just a dick or that he doesn't really like you very much (sorry to sound harsh).

Are you sure that's what happened? Very easy to get the wrong end of the stick eaves dropping.

I wouldn't think anything of it OP

    Sorry just needing to vent.

That's probably what he was doing too. He had a crap time and vented about it.

Have you tried talking to him, and telling him that you overheard him complaining, and that it upset you? I get the feeling that this is the kind of thing that could be solved with a two minute discussion, rather than dwelling on it for almost 24 hours now.

As you've illustrated, we all feel the need to vent from time to time, your boyfriend was more than likely doing the same because he hadn't enjoyed the day (his childish behaviour on the day itself notwithstanding). I'm sure there have been times where you have said some less than impressive things to a friend about your boyfriend, the only difference here is that he was unfortunate enough to have been overheard.

Mountain. Molehill. Talk to him and let him know how you feel.

^ You were absolutely right. I made a big deal out of nothing. Once the bro left, we sat down and straightened the whole thing out. It was a huge misunderstanding. Basically we'd both made some absurd assumptions and took things out of context. We actually laughed about how silly the situation was afterwards. Yeah we're a buncha idiots (especially me urgh !!)
    Made for each other o-0

Also thanks to everyone else's responses. Assumptions are the mother of all f-ups :/ lesson learnt -.-

Glad to hear that OP, It's a great lesson for all of us about how open communication (with eachother!) is the key to a great relationship!:)
