My UPC - how does it work?

Hi, I got a letter telling me about "My UPC" as a way to pay bills and help me save about €3.50. According to the website, i can use a debit card. But how does it work: Will i stop getting paper letters, and only emails? Do i have the option to go in each month and pay each time - i.e. i do NOT want automated billing.
