To those who have used roaccutane, could you wear make up while on treatment? What sort of products did you use, in particular foundation? Did foundation dry out your skin more?

Can anyone help? I'm sure there must be somebody on this forum who has been on roaccutane :)

If you search for The Persian Babe on YouTube, she was on a course of Roaccutane and she wore makeup every day, you might find some answers there.

I wore la Roche posay on roacutane, as suggested by my dermatologist. I found it hard to wear eye makeup as I got quite sore and irritated eyes on it. Plenty of moisturising lip treatments too.

Hi, I used EL double wear makeup, although it was a little drying as the acne was so bad it was the only makeup I found that would cover it to some degree. Best of luck with the treatment and I hope it works quickly for you!

I took it, albeit a number of years ago now .
I continued to wear makeup throughout.
I does dry your skin, and it will me more sensitive also, so you will have to change your products (cleanser / moisturiser/ foundation etc) to suit your new skin type. I used mostly products for dry / sensitive skin. But do this only as is necessary, as you notice changes in your skin. Also, remember to wear SPF daily.
I have to say I found it a wonderful drug, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is suffering with bad skin.
Once you are monitored well on it by your doctor (and yourself) there are superb benefits.
I went from having permanently horrible acne covered skin , to clear skin which I could happy walk around with no makeup.
I was mid twenties when I took it. best decision I ever made.

I was on it years ago, mid teens, so wasn't wearing make-up at that age. But what I have found now is that my skin is very dry all the time, especially my forehead, which would have been quite oily before I went on roaccutane. Foundation won't sit on my skin properly really, I just tend to use bb creams.

+1 to this. I was on roaccutane last year for about 7 months. After suffering from adult acne for most of my late twenties, it is wonderful to have clear skin. I haven't got any spots since I finished the treatment last July!

I didn't wear a huge amount of makeup while on roaccutane as I wanted to give my skin a bit of a breather while on it. I used cetaphil cleansers and moisturiser. When I did wear makeup I just wore it as normal, and had no problems. The only thing I just couldn't wear was any type of lipstick, as my lips dried out like crazy, but they do tend to be on the dry side usually. I carried a tube of lanolips with me constantly.
