corsair 800d front usb3 kit

I bought the upgrade kit because I upgraded my mother board and Cpu and wanted front usb 3 connection. Nice piece of kit, easy to install but the 2 usb connections have a usb cable on that needs to be ran thru the case out the back and into the external usb 3 ports on my new motherboard. Is that not dumb why not an internal connection to motherboard. Now I still have only 2 connections externally.

Was there other options to purchase? Perhaps you purchased a kit containing that specific connection method?
I have no experience with this particular kit but from what you describe it does sound like a flawed setup if that is the only option.

It's the only option and the specs don't make it clear. It seemed like a good buy but I just think it is pointless. The only addition to the original is the 2 usb 3 ports.
