with the country broke and the bad weather we should pile on the treasure to relax- remove - the quota rules for this year
the milk has been sold and did not effect the market
Now is the time for the country to gain from exports

And how will letting my neighbour off his superlevy help me? I've waterlogged land my neighbours have had roadways washed away. Surely a greater effort should go into encouraging those in power to go to Europe and get funding to sort this. Knock on effect would be much better.

To get money from the European fund they have to be able to prove the weather has had above a certain level of economic impact. For all the damage it has caused, they're saying it's not been enough to apply to that particular fund (who's name escapes me).

And why cant they do that? Seems we're very by the book obeying Europe's dictats. Like when we paid those bondholders their billions even though Ireland was broke! If my local council have to find the est €35 mill to repair the flood damage I shudder to think what other council expenditure will be cut.

They say the storms did not do enough damage to satisfy the rules of the fund. In other words they can apply, but would be turned down because the application doesn't meet the criteria.

The current politicians are so compliant if Europe says 'jump'
