I`ll be staying in Bristol also for the festival getting the train in everyday, I`ve done the trip a couple of times before in 2006 (Brave Inca - CH) and in 2012. Going from Bristol is fine about 30-40 minutes on the train and then either walk to town first for a couple of drinks and then to the racecourse. Usually after the morning line I get breakfast and get a train for 9, to be in town for 10am. Start walking to the course an hour later to be there for before 12. Alternatively you can get a bus directly from the train station directly to the racecourse for a fiver return. First race at 1.30 but nice to get there before 12 to get a look around before the rush. PM me if you fancy meeting up in Bristol the night before for a couple.

The one thing that I won't be doing this year is paying any attention to the fancies on the morning line.
I changed my horses on 3 races last year in favour of the morning line tips-all 3 lost and my own 3 won.

Yes very true, they are the worst tipsters especially Nick Luck and Alice Plunkett, their tips and reasoning are laughable, Jim Mcgrath who owns a few seems to do well enough. But its great to get you in the mood, wake up slowly and by the end I`ll be marching to breakfast briming with confidence. I already have my bets done before that stage (Grade 1`s) and for the handicaps I leave until just before the race (great to take bookies cash in hand rather than see it credited to your account online) and see what the going is like and take into account the inevitable plunge horse. I hate the next two weeks of what seems an eternity, at least when the previews start there is a distraction, roll on March 11th.

Get the bus from the train station. Try and be at the racecourse 2 hours before the first race if it's your first time there. It's worth it.
