2001 fiesta plastic strip on roof

    In a 2001 fiesta zetec what is that plastic strip along the roof? See pic. It came off my friends car in wind. That is not his car just a pic to illustrate but same model. It is really necessary to replace?

    It's there unless you use a roof rack.
    You can buy a replacement and fit yourself.

    If you like, but for rust prevention and appearance I'd get another. You can probably get one from a breaker for a fiver.
