My parent's house has no electricity. That's the first time ever they've lost power in the 20+ years that they have been living there

Worst wind I can remember in KK since '97. Especially as Kilkenny is fairly sheltered.
Kilkenny Emergency Plan in place apparently.

Yes, passed by there about 4.15. Seems to be the old asbestos type sheeting in bits all over the road & gardens of houses opposite. Big tree down at Greensbrige and a car unfortunately broke it's fall, complete write-off. City in gridlock. Haven't seen it's like before.

It's the roof of the old stand on O'Loughlin Rd. Would think quiet a few sheets, not whole roof. Should be ok, I would think.

Fecking bedroom window blew in. Nice discovery to come home to. The road st Castlemorris woods was completely devastated. There was around a dozen trees down there alone and a single guy in a tractor doing sterling work to clear the road. Well done to the farmers for rowing in.

Its asbestos so would say it'll be a big job to remove it all and make it safe

What a beautiful husky. Just the right degree of threat with his Lone Ranger mask and friendliness with the lolling tongue and big friendly tail.

OT I know but what a nice (big strong) doggie. Thanks.

I think we're severely underestimating the threat of that dog going forward.

    Hey folks

Heading from Dublin to Kilkenny in the morning and staying in Hotel Kilkenny for the nite.anyone know if there is any road closures around that area I should be worried about

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,360 ✭✭✭stampydmonkey

Nope not around the hotel anyway. Live beside it and roads are all open.

The Breagagh could flood this evening if this rain keeps up.

Stood and watched in despair as the front gate came off our house and flew up the drive narrowly missing the car scary stuff. Slates flying off roofs all over high street as well apparently.

Motorway should be fine. Just some annoying spray from trucks and other cars to deal with. Sat morns are generally grand traffic wise coming out of Dublin anyways.

It's the dog I'd be most worried about.
