My father in law will be 65 in April, he is on illness benefit since may 12 as he had a hip replacement and is still unfit for work since then,he received a letter today to state that his illness benefit is finishing in may as he has been on it for 2 years by then.
As he is too young for pension, what benefits does he claim then? Can he claim jsb? Or disability?

Does the letter not tell him to apply for Invalidity pension?

The letter should instruct him to apply for invalidity pension.
