Liberty follow up

Just wanted to provide a follow up for any of the other people who read my (now locked) thread, or people who may come across it in the future with the same dilemma.

    All sorted now.:)

It seems the previous agents didn't read my original request carefully.

But another conscientious agent read my request to advise on what the legal reason for refusing the duplicate was, then explained that they there is no legal reason and they haven't declined to issue a new cert, they simply misunderstood that the document was shredded.

Liberty have issued a duplicate certificate. :)

Don't be a dumbAss like me and shred the documents, but if you do at least it's not the end of the world.:)
Hopefully that will put some other minds at ease.

    P.s.
Have to mention that a particular individual from Axa noticed my thread in their free time and contacted me in their Free Time, offering to assist and we followed up from there.

Axa then issued a temp cert and also extended the deadline to May 19th.
Couldn't be more happy with the service from Axa!
Very impressed, so I'm joining the Mrs up with them now too and taking my home insurance with them.:)

@ Mod - could you merge this post with the other thread for future posters who come here via a search engine?

    Thanks

Damn, that's impressive! Guess I should have aired my insurance woes last month in public :pac:

I found Axa's sales strategy agressive..calling every other day trying to get me euros! I did go with them in the end (best quote). One thing that struck me as odd on their policy when I tried to temporarily transfer the policy onto another car, they can't do it unless its to cover a car provided by a garage while your own car is in for repair. Struck me as very odd.

Anywho, glad you got everything sorted icon14.png

If you're being treated unfairly by a private company, then always go public. (I had also posted in the Liberty Insurance forum)
I've learned from previous experience that plenty of private companies are quite content to treat you a particular way in private, but when you make it public and it begins to affect their image, priorities change.

Nah, it was mostly down to my odd situation, having not so common cars, foreign documents and leaving things beyond the last minute (as usual) that made it a bit difficult :D

The stance on temporary cover was strange, but I got around that by having a friend drive the second car to where it needed to be using their policy.

    Happy motoring! smileys-car-driving-109127.gif
