Training as SNA

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place but here goes. I'm currently in a job that I hate and have decided that I would like to do something about it so I am considering training as an SNA through part time or distance learning. I just wondered if any of you have any advice? What course or qualification should I ideally be aiming for? If anyone currently working as an SNA is reading this maybe you could give me some feedback on the job?

The minimum qualification required to work as an SNA is the Junior Certificate.

That said, the more educated you are, the better your chances. Here's a link to a course:

Just be aware also that SNA posts are being cut constantly. As an SNA I would seriously advise someone considering do a course to maybe look at a different option. These courses cost a lot of money, with no guarentee of a job and no job security if you do get a job. Every year we go through the pressure of justifying our existence and spend months worrying and waiting to see if we still have a job in September.
