I've just bought a new car from a dealer & got the logbook in the post today. Can I just go to my local tax office with the logbook & tax it? Its in my husbands name, do I need anything else like his licence, insurance etc?

You need insurance docs with the policy number on.
I've never shown my ID (don't think you need it) but bring his just in case I suppose.
