    Hi folks,
Can anyone tell me what the regulations are for smoke/heat/co2 detectors? How many and where in the house should they be?

    Thanks,
    Tom

Part B of the Technical Guidance Documents should help with that.

my wish list would be :

    Kitchen
    All bedrooms
    all landings
    hall way
    sitting room
    dining room
and CO2 in any room where an appliance warrants its.

Don't put one in the toilet, the bloody house be screaming every time you go for a #### :D

But seriously, if you at new build stage, or complete renovation stage, how much would it cost to kit the house out everywhere with them, €2-300. Well worth it over the life time of the house and yourself.

I would put battery one in every bedroom extra

they did a study and kids don't wake up to smoke detectors

Kitchen gets a heat detector, not a smoke detector. Likewise a room with an open fireplace/ stove.
When installing into a new build, it's a mainspowered with battery backup system you install.

Also, attic space is important for a detector.

Also - they should be interconnected - so one goes off they all go off

you will only have to replace the batteries every few years.

100%, mains wired and all connected.
