    1) When reversing around a corner, is there a standard as to which area should be more observed? ie do you need to turn somewhat in your seat to look out the back window? or does the rear mirror and wing mirrors suffice?

Reason I ask is that it quite hard to see the ground/kerb out of the back window of my car.

    2) Also, should the handbrake be used in between maneuvers in the 3 point turn? Is there a fault in turning the wheel before you begin moving also?

    3) Whats the general rule of thumb for coming down gears in anticipation to stop (either at traffic lights etc.) Do you have to com e all the way down to first gear, or is it acceptable to come to a stop in a higher gear before applying handbrake and then to neutral?

    1) You need to observe what is going on behind you by looking through the back window. You may use glance at the side mirrors to judge the curb.

    2) Use the handbrake if there is any chance of rolling back. There is not fault in turning the wheel before moving.

    3) You don't need to change down to first to stop.

You always need the handbrake in the 3 point turn

You never need to change down to first. Go down to second and then stop. Then into first when you move off again.
