Whats a good make of mains wired external anti masking PIR?
Looking to replace the existing PIR over the patio door so that the wall lights dont turn on when rain hits it off it or the dog walking around outside or the plants swaying around in the wind

The GSD are low voltage, the luxomat are mains powered.

So that rules out the GSD then, with regards to mains wiring and a light switch plate?

    For example:
The switch wire from a 12VDC PIR could be connected to the coil of a relay. Naturally this relay would be have to have a 12VDC coil. However the contacts of the relaly could be rated for 230VAC at 10A (for example).

    Does that make sense?

Here is an example of this type of relay:

Kinda understand it.Ive gone and bought a Luxomat RC-PlLUS 230 Pir instead. The chap in the electrical shop told me that this particular Pir wont trigger from moving plants or wind or rain,so Ill give it a go and see how I get on.

Hopefully that does the job for you. With sensors like that it's really a case of you get what you pay for.
