Excellent result for Sam Bennett today finishing best of the rest in GC after a 5 man break stayed away. He took the white jersey

He picked up bonus seconds in intermediate sprint I think as the GC is diff from the stage result - http://www.letour.fr/tour-of-qatar/2014/us/

Boonen beats Greipel by a tyre width, Bennett 5th, after more splits in the crosswinds.

Cracking result for Bennett. He's proving he can mix it with the big guns right from the off. Boonen's form looks to be coming along nicely. Hopefully it'll be a vintage year for the Belgian classics and he'll give Cancellara a run for his money again. Insane average speed.

Seen a Pic of Niki Terpstra's garmin from todays stage. 136km in 2hrs22min , avg 57.1 kph max of 78kph . Thats kind of quick.:eek:

MASSIVE tailwind. Speed was so fast that the live tv only got the last 10k.

The wind here is pretty crazy at times, and more than makes up for the lack of any climbs.
I'm hoping it dies down a bit for tomorrow; will be riding a portion of the final stage with one of the local cycling groups, after a meet'n'greet with the pros!

It will be my longest ride (~120km), thus far...
