Hi I'm looking for some help in sourcing a tractor or dealer. I'm looking for a 4wd tractor around 90 hp mainly for trailer work. A puh and a good cab/seat essential. Id like a 40 k box too but not essential. Not tied to any make but we always had ford/nh before. All help advice and ideas welcome

Grand with any of the three but where to get them for normal roubles. Donedeal all you get is a different tractor to the one advertised or " sold it yesterday but here's a 390 with bald tyres rusted cab noisy gearbox 9000 hrs and by the way I want 20k for it". Very frustrating so far

that's a hard budget to get a 40k tractor. that budget will get tractors in the early 90s. if you had 15 or 16k you would be in a lot better position because the mid to late 90 tractors nearly all came with 40k gearboxs and are mostly comfortable.

My wife bought it for me for my 40th before that had benellis brilliant guns but wanted to go back to sbs best gun I ever had and a demon on snipe and woodcock bit worried as was told it wouldn't have as good a range as the 30" auto but accounted for a fair few mallard and pheasant well out(for me!)

40 k not essential but it might come in handy I'm going into the timber/firewood game and will be cutting trees around nth Dublin then heading back with the trailer

Hard to beat them for woodcock and snipe. Super handling gun, one of my favorites.

Just wondering have you thought about a truck with a PAL finger and load straight into breathable bulk bags. Truck used for delivery too. No re handling of logs. Granted will slow the clean up first day a bit

Just thinking (but don't know) it would be a similar ish investment but your papering costs would be cheaper

Most of my cutting will be done for farmers clearing ditches and will need to cross headlands and fields etc so tractor most sensible option IMO also need to run logsplitter

Would you consider a trip to the UK?

Prices are strong there, but quality is much higher.

An aweful lot of lads getting into the firewood business in north Dublin. Have you tried WBD farm machine's they usually have a good few second hand tractors or can source you one easily.

What size trailer are we talking about? I doubt you need 4wd or even 90hp..

10x6 tipper with 5ft creels takes a lot of timber to fill it fair weight. When I hit the brakes I don't want the trailer to start driving the tractor!

Have said before, even tho never sat in one.
A nice clean same explorer 90/100 always catches my eye.since seen neighbour had one borrowed, years ago with a dump trailer.
Plenty gears, good brakes i think I read..would love hear from someone who had one.
