IMAP server for Eircom

    Hello,

Is there an IMAP server available for Eircom? I get the impression that you can get upgraded to an IMAP platform but not everyone seems to be on it but perhaps I'm wrong. If people have ideas they can let me know.

I've just had someone buy a new Windows 8 laptop and it doesn't look like IMAP is setup. I might just go for thunderbird for the time being.

    Appreciate peoples thoughts.

    Thanks,
    David

Judging from various posts around ( I was trying to set up Eircom imap for a friend) it does not seem as if they support IMAP.

Just one example - http://community.eircom.net/t5/Broadband/Windows-8-IMAP-config-settings/td-p/28920 -which would not inspire confidence!

The new system theyre rolling out supports IMAP, but AFAIK not everyone has been migrated yet.

It's not exactly "new" though, been going for years. Newly created email addresses, even on a very old existing account, are automatically IMAP, many people were automatically migrated, but there are still a good few people stuck on the old platform for some reason. You have to explicitly ask one of the eircom reps to migrate your account, which seems to take a mind boggling amount of time, if at all. I asked for one account to be migrated well over a year ago, and despite a few reminders, it's still not happened.
