Have any of you who are familiar with The Waterford Whisperer (Satirical News site) actually been taken in by it.
To me it was obviously a good and occasionally brilliant satire from the start but the amount of people who comment upon it in blustering indignation who actually think its sincere is mind boggling!!!
    Have you been taken in?

You should never underestimate the stupidity of the general public. Some of the views and opinions in After Hours are very good examples of this

The Daily Onion said that site was real.

Like all satirical news sites its 10% funny and 90% shíte. And the 10% isnt funny enough to make up for how shít the 90% is.

The amount of these poxy satirical sites that have popped up over the past couple of years is the real joke. It's such an easy way to provide cheap laughs.

Also the smugness emanating from those who are in on the joke and "get-it" when somebody gets taken in by a vaguely believable article is unbearable.

It's quite hard to write good satire. I think Waterford Whispers does quite a good job even if they sail a bit close to the wind at times.

And in fairness Sir Gallagher, it is pretty funny when people take what is clearly satire completely literally. I got caught with it on another satirical site once, but it was about the Middle East and so much crazy stuff happens there it seemed fairly likely it would be true.

Well with the amount of "articles" they post online they are bound to hit one good story a day.

Also what's with the owner of the website popping up everywhere. I know his name, I shouldn't. Probably wants to be famous over it.

These type of sites are better when they have a small following. Soon when there's a bigger fanbase the number of articles will increase thus increasing ad revenue from his site.

I thought it was serious when I first saw it, but I quickly realised it isn't

Its funny, to anyone moaning about it, that door at the front of your house it opens, you should open it and go outside every now and again

I actually know one of the guys involved in the Irish Enquirer. It's fairly new and it's been a bit hit and miss so far but I think this one about teachers is hilarious.
