    Is this possible to claim something working in a factory ? I'm a general operative making up pipe work in major engineering export factory

    Any advice much appreciated

    Have a look at the PAYE credits and see if any apply. They are in the stickies.

    It's worth clarifying that-while difficult (the test is very stringent)- it is possible for Schedule E employees to make valid expense claims for expenses necessarily incurred in their performance of their duties where the expense is 'wholly and exclusively' incurred for the role- for example, Schedule E capital allowances can be claimed in respect of equipment supplied by the employee (not reimbursed by the employer) and used for the employment.
