Hi. Dunno quite where the right forum would be but I’ve often thought that a lot of the hobbies and pass times that people get up to tend to be a bit repetitive. Everyone seems to be into a fairly small array of things (music, sport, film, etc.) I was wondering was there anyone out there with any really unusual hobbies or pass times that they’ve come up with and consider to be quite unique. It doesn’t even just have to be hobbies persay but any kind of activity that you do disgressionally that you think adds some purpose to your life and perhaps makes you feel more alive. Things that don’t involve either a lot of money or a very specialized, hard to recreate skill that more or less anyone could do is kind of what I’m after. For example, does anyone ever go off into the countryside at night for any reasons not involving weird sex or animal cruelty? Let me know.

I sit and think about things that are really unimportant and nonsensical. The things that don't matter in life. But it seems you got there long before me and are the master!

Nope but I do like to watch people in the country have weird sex with animals.

Hobbies? Well, back when I was fit I had a black-belt in Shotokan karate. Before that, as a small fella, I was possibly the boniest, most dangerous hurling full-back in East Limerick. These days, I play with rifles and shotguns, rebuild automatic transmissions and old Ford Pinto engines, I teach driving in my "spare" time, and I mess around with/on motorbikes whenever I can. I also read all kinds of shytte. :D

No, no. I see you now. That's one hell of a large gateau. I'm in the car just thinking about what people think about when they have little to think about.

I would've said that but I'm not too sure on how many ways you'd ride a sheep for a certain way to be named after the sheep itself

Thats great. Could we set up a country cake eating appreciation society and possibly devise rules to turn it into a competitive sport?

Once you set up a society then the reactivity is no longer rare or unusual. A self defeating exercise!
