Hi going for a mortgage soon. Will a bank only look at 3-6 months of bank statements. They won't go back more than 6 months. Would this be correct?

Depends on the bank. If you apply with your main bank they will. Any other bank are unlikely to but if the 6 months they see causes any alarm bells they may look for more.

What are you concerned about them seeing?

I lent my brother 12000 and I was in red for a month in nov. Now his paid most of my money back and in july or onwards bank statement won't show up in previous 6 months.
