hi i've a detached garage window that i don't want to put curtains or blinds up. i was thinking of tinting the window as i want light to shine in and be able to see out, but don't want everyone to be able to see in. has any one done this and how did it work out for them? or has anyone any ideas on what else might work. thanks

Glass frosting wouldn't allow the OP to see out though, which is what he wants.

You can buy sheets of window tint film that is cut to size, once you have it, you just clean the window till it's spotless, one last rub of alcohol, and then apply the tint from one side, working out the air bubbles as you apply it.

Not sure of the rules re. posting specific links to suppliers, but a quick google will get you what you want.

Works fine when it's brighter outside than in, but when it's dark out with the lights on, the mirror effect reverses, and people outside will be able to see in, and people inside will be looking into a mirror.

I have the same problem. I'm looking at getting currtains for mine.
the ones that pull up with a core and also twist to let let light in.

Venetian blinds would be a good compromise- they let let in while giving a degree of privacy.

Blinds would be the best solution, can be opened and closed and pulled up out of the way when you want.
    Just because :D
