Parking Light Problem with 2001 Almera

    Hi All,

I'm having a weird problem with my 2001, 1.5 Nissan Almera.

The drivers side parking light packed in a while back and with the NCT just around the corner I finally decided to fix it.

I changed the bulb and checked the fuses but to no avail, it's still won't work. (And the old bulb that I took out looks good)

The passenger side one is working fine, just the drivers side one that's giving trouble.

Any idea's of what could be up with it?

    Cheers :)

Broken wire or bad contact somewhere, bad earth, any sign of corrosion in the bulb holder?

No the bulb holder looks good - everything looks clean...

Ya, you maybe right...could be a broken wire or something similar. Thanks for the advice, I'll look into that and see can I get to the bottom of it.

    Cheers ;)

If the fuses are fine and the driver's side tail lamp is working, it's likely the wire has been broken or corroded somewhere along the loom from the fusebox. A quick fix would be to bring a wire over from the passenger's side lamp. If it was a choice between paying an auto electrician a sum of money or spending 5 minutes running a wire, I know which I'd do :D

You might find a break near where the wire comes out of the loom, or near a clip/tie. Also look for places where the wire may have rubbed against something. Look carefully as a break may not be obvious.
If you can't find anything then run a new wire as dougie-lampkin suggested. NCT won't care.

Try the new bulb in the opposite side just to rule out the possibility of a dud new bulb, unlikely I know but worth checking.

Have a look at the headlamp wiring there was a recall on the almera headlamps back in the day.I think it was down to melted wiring
