I hope someone can recommend a good garage in or near knocklyon to me. I travel to Dublin once a week for work and my car broke down last week. I need a garage to tow the car and have a look at it. its 14 years old. any help is appreciated.

I'll do a search for you, but if you can tell us what happened maybe we can advise on a few thing you could try to get it started again.

thanks Biko. basically I was pulling away from traffic lights and found it increasingly hard to get any gear and move the car. I eventually got it in to first gear but when I got to the next roundabout there were no gears at all. there was power in the car as the engine was running. I was able to move the gear stick in a circular motion. when the breakdown guy tried to get the car going he said it was a problem with the spindle and whatever part he was working on came away in his hand. I have it in a friends driveway as I am not living in Dublin. I am hoping it can be towed to a garage and fixed!

Hopefully something simple like a linkage.
