As in the topic, I'm looking for something relatively cheap, preferably below 100e.
Haven't really been following SSD market for a while, so maybe some of you know what model is on top in this price range?

Definitely the Evo. Even PC World sell them for not too scandalous prices for bricks and mortar.

€129.99 in PC world for the Evo I was astonished it was so expensive. It is £68 on Amazon

Haha robbing bastards. How is that place still even in business. Massive mark ups to pay for their 50 staff per store who stand around doing **** all.

Thanks everyone. Seems there's a clear winner here.

I guess this isn't a bad price with free delivery.

    Cheers

€82 delivered from Amazon. Personally I'd go with them as they have fantastic and reliable aftersales support. I've heard hit and miss things from Pixmania.

I second the Amazon recommendation, they had the best returns service I've ever dealt with. And it's cheaper to boot. Many items have free shipping now. For cases where they only offer free shipping in the UK, use parcelmotel to get it shipped for 3.50.

I just bought 2 crucial m500 240gb ssd's. I had been looking at the samsung evo series. Just decided on the crucial's after reading through multiple reviews.

It depends what it will be used for really. If it was going to have a high volume of writes I'd go with the Samsung pro as the nand in those is more durable but as a windows/programs drive the evo's are fine.

Ah, must have had a big price increase. Was 99.99 in my local a while ago, haven't checked since.

That's definately the sort of price I saw for them when I was last in there just after Christmas. I thought it was a little too good to be true :p.

Most likely they managed to shift a few at that price and figured they could jack them up again.

If they kept it at 99 they might make some sales as for the sake of 15 Euro and waiting people would use them.they have no concept of their consumer market.
Still operate on the "ill informed consumer" but alas with Amazon's second to none customer care and free delivery killing off the fear of online shopping. won't be long before Pc world joins Peats.

And what's funny they will cut staff , before considering changing their failing business model.

The Crucial M500 is very cheap at the moment. On amazon you get it £10 cheaper than the 840 EVO.

If you sign up for a free 1 month trial of prime it's even cheaper and shipping is quicker. Just cancel before the end of the trial, make a reminder or they will charge you a years subscription. If you use parcel motel it would work out better as some items aren't eligible for free shipping to Ireland. I don't get that at all if you were to be paying for such a service.

Just out of interest, Evo 128GB is actually still 99.99 in my local PC World.
