Still feeling the crash

    So I came off the bike nearly a month ago on unseen ice

    I attacked the ground at about 35k/h

    The cuts and bruises have healed and have bad scarrs up my left thigh

    The problem is my leg keeps going numb/sore in the upper outside part of my upper leg (my arse cheek basically) and cutting off at my waist not entering lower back at all

    Has anyone experienced this after a fall?

    <SNIP>

    (not asking for medical advice mods ;) )

    Sounds like you should be though. Go find medical advice...

    Sorry for your troubles - am recovering still from a harmless-looking fall in August. At least I am hoping I am recovering and that I will eventually feel better than this. But I am long since back on the bike so not too bad.
    <SNIP>. If you got talking to a qualified Fizzyo, they might be able to give information on the phone. It is likely they would want to see and examine you first. That would be my first stop as I'd expect no charge if they couldn't treat. The GP would charge me for the visit.
    If it is low back related, it might not go away on its own - so as it has been persistent it might be worth following up. Tell us how you get on....

    Can't offer advice, but can relate, came off in late Dec on ice too. Garmin stopped at 28kph. Smacked down on the side, hip and elbow skint bruised and sore. Washed down wounds and applied Savalon for a few days.

    Wounds healed well and the scabs fell off, although the more sore of the two the hip did heal faster and better. About a week ago a sizeable very sore abscess appeared on my elbow. I headed down to the doctor to receive a diagnosis of Osteomyelitis or in laymans terms infected bone.

    I have been taking the highest dose of oral antibiotics for the last week, its still sore. Be careful out there.

    I've edited a few posts guys. Feel free to share stories about your own crashes, but we seriously can't allow medical advice or opinions. This definitely includes speculating on what the OP's injuries might be. I'll have to lock the thread if there's any more posts like this

    Strongly recommend you seek medical attention ghogie, numbness sounds quite serious.

    The most important thing if you want to heal as quickly as possible, and save a lot of time and money going from one professional to the next a correct diagnosis is important.. and the best place to start is probably the family doctor or a doctor who has a sports medicine qualification,who will refer for ex rays scans , and to other specialists as required.
