2 days, choice of 10k, HM, Mara and Ultra distances. Day 1 pan flat, day 2 hilly.

I did the HM both days last year and absolutely loved it. Small numbers, really chilled out and friendly, fantastic scenery.

Thanks pointer that looks like a really cool couple of days. Definitely worth having a think about it. I love the idea of running a marathon over mt Leinster.

Did the Ultra over Mt Leinster last year. It was probably 70% on the road. Day one was more off road along the river tow path. It was an enjoyable event, even though the tar on the road was melting going over Mt L it was so hot that day!

The Wicklow Way Ultra would be a good option too, haven't done it myself but is deffo on my list.

Run the Line is one heck of a race. Only 25km but one of the toughest about.

70% on the road sounds painful. I find running trails much easier because its always much more scenic and I can switch off while running. Defo would like to have a go at the WWU sometime.

Yeah I was raging I missed this. Heard nothing but good reports from it. Dublin mountains is littered with really good trails for running.

If you're looking for something around marathon distance then the WWU, the Mourne Way Marathon and the Causeway Coast Marathon seem like the most obvious candidates to me. All are great races.

Nice1 Enduro. The Causeway coast marathon looks nice. Could tie in nicely with a weekend up north.

Just want to plug an off road hill race in Kilkishen Co. Clare on March 2nd. It is in the oddly titled 12 O Clock Hills near Sixmilebridge and is part of the IMRA Calendar. It is a 5k loop over 300m ascent and ideal for beginners (like myself) to trail running - jog or walk it as well.http://kilkishen.com/index.php/12-oclock-hills/mountain-run/
