I hate people posting single questions that aren't actually a topic of conversation but I've finally joined the ranks.

    2008 Leon 102bhp 1.6 petrol, don't have engine code.

Looking online it's anywhere from 40k-100k but the owner rang Seat, gave the chassis number and the tech swore blind it was 150k.

I've looked at the belt and it looks fine at 82k but to me 150k seems a bit excessive.

On my 06 1.6 Leon it was 4 years or 60k miles. I had heard that vw changed them upwards but I don't know if that engine was included as 08 would have meant it was probably built in 07 and the very last of them.

Thinking about it, it may have been been 90k km. I might be confusing that with the mileage I had it done possibly though.

If it hasn't been changed from new then it is due now because of age and regardless of mileage.

It is cheap to get the timing belt kit and water pump done on those engines anyway. €260 or so should cover it if you go for an independent garage. I think the dealers do them for €350.
