How would you define hill? I have an elevated hilly farm with a few good level fields but no access to commonage. What would that be?

    Good question.

I suppose the easiest way would be on breed types, so a hill flock would be pretty much forced into blackface or cheviot because of land type.

I must actually add a third option for both as there are some running lowland + hill flocks.

I put down both since my place by the sea in North Mayo has the type of soil and climate one would associated with high hills in the East of the country.

Low land, but a mixture of breeds. Suffolk cross, speckled face's and I like to keep Cheviots. So, clear as mud, then!
