I had a heifer calved the other day and as you can see from the photo is leaking milk through what was possibly an extra teat that was removed as a calf. I have kept it clean and put purple spray on it. Any way to seal this as I'm afraid of her getting mastitis.

    I would ignore it.

You wouldn't be worried about any infection the fact they are on cubicles? And with the weather at the moment may be for a while yet!

Yes I would expect infection. So what? You are not milking the "quarter". British friesan or xbred?

Thanks for that. British Friesan. Didn't go down the x bred route.

If she gets an infection it will just rot and burst. No biggie.

I had one of these up to last year. She had eight calves and had this extra teat from when she was a heifer. She got infection on and off over the years but it never affected her and got no treatment.
