    Hi Guys and Girls

The lights behind my front dash where the heater dials and air flow dials are have never worked since I got the car a year and a half ago! Any idea what kind of bulbs are used to order a replacement?

Factory ones are white(ish) with green condoms on them, usually breaking when one tries to pull them off. :)

There can be a lot of fiddly dismantling on some of those dashes - thats why they are often not fixed ;)
Google 03 Corolla dash board lights for example and quite a bit of info available

I took off the dash in November to fit a bluetooth kit! Never thought of checking the bulb when doing it though! Thanks for the heads up though :)

From memory I think the 3 dials for heat, air circulation and fan come off and behind the far left and far right one there's a screw to undo, then you take off the plastic casing below the gear gator, think there's two screws at the top of the dash to take out too.

If your doing it place something below the bulbs to catch them as they are likely to fall out a number of times as you attempt to fit them as the fitting is quite awkward due to the size of the bulbs and if one falls down around the gear stick it's a real problem trying to fish it out, as I find out :D

Yeah these lights are an easy change but a bit finicky especially behind the speedo.
