I'm 25 years old. I want to meet people and even start going clubbing. With other gay guys. Is there anywhere I can make friends? Oh and I tried dating websites. I don't want to meet someone unsure if they are expecting a hook-up etc.

There are meet-ups organised on here now and again. Stick around, chat to people and when a meet-up is arranged, come along and make some new friends.

Have you considered organising something yourself on here?

Over a year back a boards user that i dont think posted much on here organised a very successfull meet up in Dublin. That led to a few more meet ups some of which had up to 20 people attending each month for a few months afterwards and naturally someone of the people becoming friends outside of the boards.ie forum.

There doesn't seem to have been many new meets ups lately organised on here so it's probably time for someone completely new to have a go and make a fresh start of it all. I know its very easy for me to say but don't wait for someone else to do it have a go yourself.

hey! I would also be interested in making some new gay friends to go clubbing with! I know what you mean about using dating sites, it gets frustrating some times. I have come across a very good website that organises regular meet ups for gay men and women and they encourage newcomers. I havnt gone to one yet though...i find it too scary haha. Anyway in also 25, msg me if you want to chat more

Hey, I'm looking to make friends too. I'm 23 and gay. I don't know people of have friends that belong to the lgbt community. Most of my friends are straight. It'd be great to get to one of them meetups

Hey, I'm the same here I am 22 and really desperate to make a few gay friends here in Cork but its just so hard to. Don't even know where to start like and I'm in a relationship so I'm not trying dating sites or anything like that. I speak to the odd guy when I'm out but nothing kind of becomes of it, even just having 1 gay friend to start off with would be brilliant and build more from there.
