Is this the same Stephen Ryan that was behind Capitol Radio?

Between 1983 and 1986, Stephen Ryan, a.k.a. Stephen Lewis, was a deejay on Dublin pirate Capitol Radio. He was also one of the owners of the station. I'm not sure if he continued in that capacity or not after he stopped being a presenter. If memory serves me right, it was around the time of the launch of its nighttime service known as Nitesky Radio in September 1986 that he dropped off the schedule.

Is this the same guy that is on linkedIn below - I was told once on another forum that the above Stephen Ryan had got involved in radio in the U.K. but never got specifics.

Apologies for bringing it up again!

If this jogs anyone's memories, Stephen Ryan, a.k.a. Stephen Lewis, used to be on Capitol (when he was on-air) on weekdays in the early afternoon immediately after one Bob Conway, a.k.a. Martin Callinane. I remember him playing Home by the Sea/Second Home Coming by Genesis and Living the Boys Adventure Tales by Aha! He was into album tracks. The other station owner was Conor Brooks.

Can't open the profile, but could it be Stephen Ryan of Stars of Heaven fame?

I remember The Stars of Heaven - they used to be played a lot on Capitol Radio in fact! I did a quick check on their singer Stephen Ryan. I'm pretty sure that he is not my radio guy above because, according to Wikipedia, he went on to form The Revenants and they produced some records during the '90s. This would not tie in with Stephen's radio career in the U.K. at that point.

    Hello Declan,

Yes, you have your Stephen Ryan's correct. This Stephen is the Capital Radio one. Nice guy too and doing very well with his research firm. Has done work for some Irish stations in the past on the research side.
